October Newsletter Preview: Terry Fox Run NYC
At 18, Terry Fox learned that due to cancer, he would have to amputate his right leg above the knee. From this point on, Terry Fox became an advocate for funding in cancer research. In 1980, Terry Fox started the “Marathon of Hope”, where he ran for 143 days, running 26 miles per day, crossing 3,300 miles until he was forced to stop. Since his death in 1981, many runs have been held to support his goal of funding cancer research.
“The Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research” will occur October 8 in NYC.
