“There’s treatment for the virus but there’s no treatment for the stigma.” And for Edmonton, Alberta-born artist and educator Thedore (ted) Kerr, combating that stigma drives much of his work.
A writer, organizer, artist, and Lecturer of Interdisciplinary Arts at The New School, Kerr explores the past, present and even the future of cultural production of HIV/AIDS culture. Now based in Brooklyn, he cites his adopted home for helping him understand himself as a Canadian in ways not possible in Canada.
