February Newsletter Preview: Black History Month Highlight
American-Canadian anti-slavery activist, journalist, publisher, teacher, and lawyer Mary Ann Shadd Cary was the first black women publisher in the United States and women publisher in Canada.
She promoted equality for all people throughout her life and is known as a role model for women in education and law.
The Consulate General of Canada in New York has created a TikTok account and will be live on Feb. 4th. Make sure to check out the TikTok videos for Black History Month including one for Mary Ann Shadd Cary here.
