Terry Fox Run – NYC
Saturday October 8, 2022
At 18, Terry Fox learned that due to cancer, he would have to amputate his right leg above the knee. From this point on, Terry Fox became an advocate for funding in cancer research. In 1980, Terry Fox started the “Marathon of Hope”, where he ran for 143 days, running 26 miles per day, crossing 3,300 miles until he was forced to stop. Since his death in 1981, many runs have been held to support his goal of funding cancer research. One of them being the Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research in NYC.
“The Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research” is scheduled to take place in Central Park on October 8 at 9:30am.
Don’t miss out on seeing staff from the Consulate General of Canada in New York and the Permanent Mission of Canada to the UN, who will team up to support cancer research! Feel free to come and join us.
