November Newsletter Preview : Remembrance Day / National Poppy Day Highlight
On July 6, 1921, Canada decided to use the wearing of poppy as a symbol for Remembrance Day. The Royal Canadian Legion has developed a replica of the original poppy for their 100th year anniversary instead of today’s common poppy lapel. The original fabric poppy was created and introduced to Canada by Madame Anna Guérin, who was inspired by Canadian poet John McCrae.
