Retrospective: Michael Snow
December 3 to December 14, 2021
The Consulate General of Canada in New York is co-presenting “Retrospective: Michael Snow” with Anthology Film Archives.
Michael Snow, Toronto-born artist, has been a filmmaker, photographer, sculptor, painter, musician, and writer throughout his career. Beginning as a bohemian art student through the 1940s and 1950s, Snow devoted himself to painting and jazz piano. He began exhibiting his visual arts in Toronto from the mid-50s and then continued in New York City in 1962. It was at this point the world took notice of his endeavors.
Anthology Film Archives is now hosting thirteen programs on the full retrospective of Snow’s film and video works from 1956 to 2019 with a special statement from Michael Snow himself.
